Ma and DeeAt Ma Goa Restaurant, my Mother and her team prepare their favourite dishes using family recipes passed down the generations. Our menu takes inspiration from the beautiful palm fringed region of Goa (where my Ma learnt to cook) but also takes influences from other parts of India.

Since its opening in 1993, we have won critical acclaim from many top critics & we take pride in the fact that we are a genuine family-run restaurant. Our mission has always been to serve tasty, fresh, unpretentious home-style cooking in a warm & friendly setting.

Situated 2 minutes away from Putney British Rail & 5 minutes away from East Putney Tube it makes a perfect venue before a night on the town.

We also offer a popular take-away & free local delivery service & a party catering service.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ma Goa soon.

Great food

We went to Ma Goa with my parents to celebrate my birthday and we weren't disappointed. The value for London and such a great food was amazing. The ribs for starter and slow cooked lamb for main were the stars of the meal. Also a good wine list! Would highly recommend

“Excellent Indian Food”
[5 of 5 stars] Reviewed 16 April 2014 NEW via mobileWe spent a few days in Putney as a starting base for sightseeing in London. Ma Goa was just around the corner and based on TripAdvisor always the first choice for an Indian meal. Reservation worked well, we had a good table, service was nice, quick and efficient. Starters and main courses were excellent and plenty. I can especially recommend the Nariyal Gosht, a spicey lamb dish. The kids (1st time Indian meal) had a mild chicken curry and liked it, but loved the mango lasse. Highly recommended. TRIP ADVISOR

You can tell a good curry house simply by its popadoms and chutneys, therefore, Ma Goa will not disappoint when it comes to quality. The chutneys were not the usual "straight out of a jar" that you find in most curry houses. These were clearly made from scratch and were very enjoyable (particularly the peanut chutney). The starters were out of this world. We ordered the sorpotel and papri chaat. Both were presented beautifully and tasted equally as good. The mains were even better. We ordered the Bella lamb kodi and a Nariyal gosht. The waiters were very friendly and not pushy. They even recommended a curry when we described what we liked in a curry. He asked the chef to add more chilli to suit our taste. I cannot wait to visit Ma Goa again. I would recommend this place to anyone!

“Delicious and distinctive”

Still as lovely after 20+ years. An enduring classic of its kind due to consistently good cooking, friendly service and comfortable surroundings. If not a local, definitely worth a detour.

“Addicted”

After years & years of searching for the perfect curry, there's a very good chance I may well have found it, at Ma Goa in Putney! Having had many take-away from Ma Goa in the past, I was not completely convinced, but there was something in all of them that said there was something different. I ate at the restaurant for the second time recently, and was blown away by the quality of the food.
It can be difficult to get a booking here on Friday's and Saturday's, so book early. It's great that it's usually busy in here, and creates a superb atmosphere without being rowdy or unpleasantly noisy.
The staff are very attentive, friendly and caring, and there did not seem to be a 'rush rush' policy like so many other busy restaurants - we felt free to order in our own time.
We started with a kidney and liver curry and a salmon and cod fish cake (from the specials) - both were top drawer. The mains, one of which was the very popular Lamb Shank, and the other, a Goan take on Chicken Masala, were also spectacular. The food tastes fresh, carefully considered, creative and original, and most of all, it's just delicious!!

“As usual!!!”

What I've experienced for years is restaurants are very quiet during first week or weekends of Jan!! but Ma Goa was packed on Saturday night and we did book in-case!
I can't stop writing about this delicious hut as it was a perfect spiced dinner after couple of festive weeks again.
Their daily specials are real catch you never wonder what they offer
Whole tandoori quail(but we did not order) or red snapper in tangy hot sauce!! As the wine menu offers you plenty of world class vineyards.
Staffs are very attentive and the level of service is highest.
Always Great atmosphere! in an Indian restaurant is one in thousands!!
Keep it up guys!!
